Metabase Launches Data Studio and Storage Add-Ons, Expands Free AI Access
What changed
Open Source plan gains limited Metabot AI access ('Single-shot SQL generation only'). Additionally, 'Dashboard permissions' row removed from the multi-tenant permissions section of the compare table.
Data Studio added as a new section in the compare plans table: an analyst workbench with SQL/Python transforms, AI code generation, Measures, Segments, Glossary, Library, Dependencies graph, and Diagnostics.
Embedded analytics compare table restructured: Static embedding renamed to Guest embeds; Interactive embedding replaced by Modular/Full-app embedding; Content translation and Embedded analytics JS rows removed.
Two new add-ons introduced in the add-ons section: Storage at $40/mo for 500k rows and Advanced transforms at $250/mo for 72,000 runs. Both available self-serve without talking to sales.
